Most providers bring all the supplies and equipment required for the job. If you prefer, they can also accommodate your request to use your cleaning supplies and equipment. If a provider does not bring any supplies and equipment, or specific types of supply or equipment, you will be informed before a booking is confirmed.
Each provider sets their own rates and surcharges independently. Common examples include Deep Cleaning, Move-In/Out Cleaning, Weekend Service, and Out of Area Service.
This depends on what you and the provider agree on once you meet in person. You can always request more or fewer hours during booking or directly with the service provider upon meeting him or her in person.
Anita’s has zero control over how long a service provider takes. Service providers negotiate directly with clients for the appropriate number of hours he or she believes the requested service should take.
Prior to confirming an appointment, you will be provided at least one service provider to choose from. You will be able to see his or her online profile before confirming.

No. Regardless of job size, service frequency, type of service, etc. there are no exceptions. A valid credit card is required to confirm an appointment. Upon completion of a service, payment is processed automatically on the same credit card on behalf of your service provider.
When you book a service, Anita’s processes your payment on behalf of the referred service provider. The funds are held in a separate trust account until the cleaning is completed, then released to the provider.
California law (Civil Code § 1812.5095(b)(2)) requires referral agencies like Anita’s to handle payments this way—either by sending them directly to the provider or holding them in trust until disbursed. This protects both clients and providers and ensures full compliance with state law.
Currently, service providers registered with Anita’s are in and around most major cities in California, except San Francisco. You will very likely find a service provider in or around one of the following cities or areas: San Diego, Carlsbad, Poway, Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Jose, East Bay, Sacramento. No. The service providers are cleaning companies or owners of their own cleaning business. Anita’s does not employ any of the providers listed in our registry. Anita’s also does not control, supervise, or direct how the referred providers perform their work.
Anita’s is a referral agency in the business of assisting clients seeking domestic services and in registering domestic workers (“Service Providers”) for job referrals, in accordance with California Civil Code §1812.501(h). Anita’s operates in a manner consistent with the California Civil Code “Employment Agency, Employment Counseling and Job Listing Services Act.”
In most cases, the providers we match you with have their own business license or business tax permit. Please note that service providers referred through Anita’s are not covered by Anita’s workers’ compensation insurance.
The service providers are cleaning companies or owners of their cleaning service, so they are responsible for all damages. You are encouraged to discuss prior to or at the start of the service to set expectations with your service provider. For more details, please refer to Paragraph 9 in Terms of Service.
Tipping is always appreciated but never required. The amount is at your discretion. You are welcome to check out an article, Do You Tip House Cleaners?, we published on this topic. You can either give the tip in cash to the provider, or add it to the service to be charged to your credit card (100% of the tip goes to the provider).
